AdWords advertising stopped by trademark

The Danish court recently decided that a registered tm can prevent others AdWords advertising keywords.  The court found that the use of the keyword for advertising resulted in customers viewing the competitors site when they were in fact looking for the original.  The trademark was used in the heading of the AdWords advertisement.

Trademark your logo

When you think of a great name for your business most people will work to protect the name.  However, few think about also protecting the logo.

A logo registration protects both the words and the graphical elements of your brand.

Think what would have happened if Nike only protected it’s name and not the Swoosh!
